Committee Description:

Society of Breast Imaging – Patient Care & Delivery Committee Mission and Goals

Mission – The mission of the Patient Care & Delivery Committee is to act as a platform to help address pressing, controversial, and clinically relevant issues facing the breast imaging community.  This mission will be accomplished through qualitative and quantitative work aimed at developing scientific manuscripts, white papers, statements, and clinical practice guidelines.

Goals – The goals of the SBI Patient Care & Delivery Committee include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide a platform to survey SBI members on clinical, social, and research issues
  • Collaborate with other societies/professional organizations on projects of shared interest
  • Produce scientific manuscripts for the greater breast imaging/radiology community
  • Develop white papers, statement, and clinical practice guidelines on clinical topics of interest to the SBI
  • Provide a forum for researchers of all levels to develop and execute clinical research projects

Core Mission – The core mission of the SBI Patient Care & Delivery Committee is to pursue work in the following major areas:

  • Research
  • Patient advocacy
  • Evidence-based best practices
  • Clinical practice patterns

Vision – The vision of the SBI Patient Care & Delivery Committee is to be the primary source to study and disseminate clinical relevant practice information within the breast imaging community.
