I served as a radiologist in private practice for 40 years, and as a dedicated breast imager for the last 25 years. I am still involved in teaching and lecturing about breast imaging as Clinical Professor at the University of New Mexico and George Washington University. I have presented over 1500 lectures at over 500 conferences in the U.S. and 24 other countries. I have also been very active politically, having helped the FDA write the Final Rules of MQSA, and having lobbied to get mammography legislation passed in New Mexico and other states. Throughout my career, I have worked within the ACR and SBI, most recently as a member of the BI-RADS Committee, Chair of the Subcommittee on BI-RADS Ultrasound, and as Chair of Breast Ultrasound Accreditation, all for the ACR. In 2021, I was honored to be the recipient of the Gold Medal of the Society of Breast Imaging.
